Early Spring Floral Design With Soren Soto of Galleria Botanica

Description:
Design a fresh floral arrangement inspired by the colors and textures of early spring.
In this guided class students will create a seasonal centerpiece while learning floristry skills.
Techniques & Skills covered in this class include:
– Introduction to the elements of design
– Beginner floristry techniques
– Flower care and handling
– Creating interest in monochromatic designs
The finished design makes great Spring decor, and the perfect centerpiece for celebrating St.
Patrick’s Day and other seasonal festivities. This class is for all levels and is designed to be fun
and informative for everyone.
Note: The arrangement we create will be similar in color, style, and size to the photo. Exact flower types and materials used may vary based on availability.
Tuition: $65 + $68 materials fee
Note: We really want you to join us in the studio! Full and partial tuition scholarships are available to offset some of the financial burden of attending a class.

Materials: All materials will be provided
Location: Contemporary Craft, TImmons Studios (5688 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201). Note, this workshop will take place in the Paper Studio, which is on the first floor of the building.
There are 2 entrances to the Timmons Studios.
• One entrance is facing Butler Street. To access the Paper Studio from the Butler Street facing entrance, there are a total of 8 stairs to ascend.
• One entrance is facing 57th Street. This entrance is accessible by ramp, with no stairs to ascend. The Paper Studio is located down the hall from this entrance.

Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded by check, to your credit card, or Contemporary Craft account for future workshops.
Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks.
About the Artist
Soren Soto is an artist, FDI certified floral designer, and business owner in Pittsburgh, PA. He is originally from the Detroit area where he spent nearly a decade as a curator and exhibiting artist. After moving to Pittsburgh, he began working in the floral industry where he became fascinated by the profound roles that flowers have in our everyday lives.
In 2023 he opened Galleria Botanica, a Pittsburgh-based floral studio focused on a curatorial, fine arts approach to floral design. He is now offering workshops for others who are interested in learning floristry techniques and finding the joys of creating botanical works of art.
