Rent time in any of Contemporary Craft’s Studios!

Contemporary Craft’s Metals Studio, Weaving Studio, and Sewing Studio are available to individuals for Open Studio Rental. Open Studio provides the opportunity to work independently in a studio environment with access to tools and equipment not typically found in a home studio.

Open Studio includes access to all of the tools and equipment in that Studio (some equipment requires certification to use). If you have not taken a workshop in the Studio where you want to rent time, you must engage in a brief interview with a staff member to discuss your skill level. Once approved, you may rent studio time.

Hours

Monday-Friday: 10am-5pm
Saturday: 10am-5pm when there is no workshop scheduled in the Studio where you want to rent time.

1 hour: $15
1 day: $35
10 hours: $60
1 month: $135

All Open Studio rentals are valid for one year from the date of purchase and all Open Studio sales are final.

Daily rentals are good for one single calendar day. Be sure to arrive early to get the most out of your daily rental.

10 hour rentals are good for any 10 hours and must be used within one year from the date of purchase.

Monthly rentals are good for unlimited visits throughout one calendar month and are good from the date of your first visit.

You may schedule Open Studio time up to 1 month in advance with at least 24 hours notice.

Rabbit Laser

Donated by Dr. Peter R. Johnson and Joanne Johnson, with support from the Ayers Foundation

Our machine is the Rabbit Laser RL-80-1290 model. The cutting bed is 47.2″ x 35.4″. The laser can cut and engrave wood, bamboo, paper, leather, wool felt, natural fabrics, and acrylic up to 1/4″. It can also engrave marble, glass, crystal, and ceramic. It is highly accurate, with location precision of less than 0.01mm.

Laser Certification Workshops are offered on the third Tuesday of every month from 6pm-8pm. Once you have taken the workshop, you will be certified to rent time on the Rabbit Laser. You can also schedule extra laser assistance to help prep files or guide you through your personal projects.

Private Artist Studio for rent in the newly expanded Contemporary Craft Campus!

Do you need a beautiful, light-filled studio for your craft practice?

Contemporary Craft is pleased to begin offering a private, locked artist studio space in the new Timmons Studios complex. The studio is located on the second floor (walk up) at 5680 Butler St. which is a mixed use space including a basement office and first floor meeting space. A private restroom is located on the second floor adjacent to the Studio.

Access to all of Contemporary Craft’s community Studios during regular business hours is included with private studio rental!

Private Studio Rental

Studio Size: Approximately 270 square feet with additional closet

Artist Media: A space rental that would be conducive to our organization would be someone working in fiber, metals, wood, or paper.

Access: 24/7 access to private studio and courtyard. Studio rental will also include access to CC’s Community Studios and kitchen space during regular business hours.

Terms: 6-month or 1-year lease options.

Rent: $650 per month inclusive of all utilities, internet, and access to Contemporary Craft public studio spaces and equipment (metals, wood, fiber, paper-making)

Parking: Free parking is available on Butler Street and along 57th Street.
