1.5 Hour Workshop<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

Date: <\/strong><\/strong>Friday, March 22, 2024<\/p>\n

Time: <\/strong><\/strong>9am-10:30am<\/p>\n

Description:<\/strong><\/strong> Mark making with both hands simultaneously engages the left and right sides of the brain, connects you to your body and natural rhythms and helps bring you into the present moment. In conjunction with the exhibition, Oneness: Brie Ruais, we will be meeting in the gallery to explore creativity through bi-lateral mark making, creating “body maps” and markings on paper on the floor. Please wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to stretch and move.<\/p>\n

Tuition:<\/strong><\/strong> $5 (non-refundable)<\/p>\n

Location: <\/strong><\/strong>Contemporary Craft (5645 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201)<\/p>\n

Cancellations:<\/strong><\/strong> Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded through Eventbrite, or you may leave your workshop fee in your Contemporary Craft account for future workshops.<\/p>\n

About the Artist<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

Lauren Braun is a visual artist, educator and certified mindfulness facilitator based in Pittsburgh, PA. Working in mixed media collage, drawing and painting, and ceramics, Lauren is continuously exploring different materials in her nature themed work.<\/p>\n

Lauren offers creativity and mindfulness themed workshop experiences. And she works as a mobile teaching artist (with Fine Art Miracles) providing art classes for senior citizens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their residential facilities.<\/p>\n

Lauren earned a BFA in Art Photography from Syracuse University and an MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. In 2021 she completed a 200-hour radical mindfulness certification program (Copper Beech Institute).<\/p>\n
