Born in 1993, Jhenny Adams is a Pennsylvania based artist exploring the confrontations of her generation. She received her BFA in Fiber Arts with a concentration in theater at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. Using weaving as a metaphor for time, Jhenny calls into attention the concepts of reality, memories and entertainment. She also uses the garment and other body based sculptures to study human connection, individuality, and personal intersection among groups. As an extension of this research, Jhenny is interested theater as a platform for engaging dress in a collaborative setting. Her costumes were recently in MICA?s productions of Jailbait, Blackbird, Man of Mode and Almost, Maine. Jhenny is excited about her time at the Society for Contemporary Craft where she looks forward to continuing her work, connecting art and the community and empowering individuals through art.
