Happy Holidays Everyone,
As you?re already enjoying the season or getting ready to start in on the cookies, I would like to share a few things and introduce what?s coming your way in the New Year.? Our first Crafts and Drafts (Ugly Sweaters) took place this month and it was a huge success!? We had a full workshop and a big thanks goes out to everyone that attended.? There are more to come each month starting in February, make sure you get a spot early!? http://clients.mindbodyonline.com/ws.asp?studioid=23447&stype=-8&sTG=42&sView=day
Once we get into January, the Studio will pick up the pace. If you have a 12-16 year old in your life that enjoys crafting, our next Artist and Kids workshop is on January 18th.? Artist Laura Jean McLaughlin will be in the Studio from 10 am-5pm to create mosaics. ? This is a free creative workshop, so please call the Studio to register that special teen!

After that, the ever-popular in-service day for teachers will be happening on January 20th.? This Teachers and Crafters In-Service day is full of learning. Thanks to a generous donation, for $10, teachers have the opportunity to register for one of two workshops from 9am-12pm that would normally cost $45.? The two options are:
Wirework: The Stuff Cuff with Gerry Florida
OR
Wood Turned Pens with Linda Van Gehuchten
If you?re coming for the day, be sure to pack a bagged lunch because at 12:30pm, special guest Steve Gorelick will give a lecture related to the current exhibition at SCC.?Steve is a Distinguished Lecturer in the Department of Film and Media Studies at Hunter College. ?For more information regarding his work and research, vist: http://ima-mfa.hunter.cuny.edu/?ima-faculty=steve-gorelick-2? The day is open to anyone of interest, not just teachers.? However, because teachers receive a discounted rate for this day, please call or email thestudio@contemporarycraft.org to register if you are a teacher.
From there we start a season full of favorites along with some new workshops.? To take a look at what we have, visit:
