I?m a Senior Arts Administration major and Marketing minor at Wagner College on Staten Island. As much as I love NYC, I am thrilled to gain some arts experience in my hometown! I know that the big?city has much to offer in the arts scene, but I will always be a Pittsburgh girl at heart and am so glad that I have the opportunity to intern with SCC this summer.
Working in the arts is all I have ever thought of doing?aside from wanting to be the first woman President when I was in first grade. I have always had a creative edge in design and enjoy marketing and advertising, but I also have a strong interest in experiencing the creative expression of others. I am particularly interested in working in a nonprofit arts organization because the atmosphere simply has more passion and the mission is reflected throughout the entire organization.
My coursework in the Arts Administration program has further enriched my interest to work in a nonprofit and has broadened the field of art I have an interest in. From a college rich in theater to a city filled with some of the best arts museums, my interests have grown and expanded over the past three years. I look forward to all the experience I can gain this summer to prepare me for a future in marketing the arts and understanding the inner workings of a nonprofit organization.?
