Hosting dual anniversary events in 2021, Women of Visions, Inc. celebrates its 40th Anniversary with friends and supporters like Contemporary Craft which is celebrating its 50th year! The WOV artwork on display at CC’s BNY Mellon Satellite Gallery, showcases a variety of mediums including fiber, sculpture, mixed media, and ceramics by Women of Visions’ members created during four decades and matched against a timeline of key events that occurred between 1981 and 2021 in the city of Pittsburgh. As the oldest visual arts group in the region founded by women of color, and with nearly all members being award-winning artists, teachers, or administrators, WOV has endured as a historic, academic, and creative powerhouse. CC’s BNY Mellon Satellite Gallery is located at 500 Grant St, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 (in the Lobby of the Steel Plaza T-Station in downtown Pittsburgh). This exhibition is open daily through midnight and is also free to the public.
