Elemental Fiber

May 17, 2018 - August 19, 2022

Artist Kathy Nida creates fabric narratives by translating her dreams into artworks.

Through her colorful quilts, Nida explores public issues such as women’s rights, politics, climate change, gun control, and other social topics through art. Many of these topics explored can be found in the nine exhibiting artworks in Elemental Fiber. The artist mines her subconscious and conscious good and bad memories and reconciles them first with pen and paper, and then renders them into quilts using fabric, beads, embroidery, paint, and pen.

CC’s BNY Mellon Satellite Gallery is located at 500 Grant St, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 (in the Lobby of the Steel Plaza T-Station at Oliver Street and Grant Street in downtown Pittsburgh). This exhibit is opened daily through midnight and is also free to the public.
