8-Hour Workshop

Time: 9am-5pm
Description: Crochet has an enormous range of scales, patterns, materials, and styles. In this workshop you will learn how you can use crochet in your jewelry practice. For textile artists who want to make jewelry, it is an easy transition from working with yarn to working with metal. For the artsit working in metal, it requires a new mindset; but it gives the artist freedom of lines, transparency, and texture. This workshop will focus on tubular weaving and how the technique can be used in your jewelry paractice to make chains, bracelets, and more.
Tuition: $105 + $20 materials fee
Materials: All materials will be provided.
Location: Contemporary Craft (5645 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201)
Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded through Eventbrite, or you may leave your workshop fee in your Contemporary Craft account for future workshops.
Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks.
About the Artist
Amanda was born in Pittsburgh in 1994. She is an American jewellery maker from Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school in 2012, she moved to Ohio to attend Kent State University, where she completed a BFA in Crafts with a concentration in jewellery and metalwoking, under Demita Thomloudis, along with a minor in At History. Wanting to continue hereducation she moved to Florence, Italy to attend Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School to receive her MFA where she studied under Evert Nijland, Jorge Manilla and Lucy Sarneel.
