Sew Club at Contemporary Craft

2-Hour Meet up

Date: Wednesday, January 21st, 2026

Time: 6pm-8pm

Description: Join our monthly sewing meet up! Bring your current project, or make a mini project from our community scraps or just enjoy the company of fellow sewists. Hand sewing and machine sewing are welcome. Bring your own machine, or reserve one of the studio’s machines (4 Pfaff machines and one serger are available) to use for a $5 reservation fee.

Space is limited! Registration is required for SEW CLUB to ensure that there is enough space for everyone to work comfortably.

Please note that this is open studio time and is not instructional.

Tuition: $5 machine reservation fee (6 Pfaff sewing machines and 1 Serger available). Reservation fee is only required if you plan to use a CC machine. Otherwise, this open studio meet-up is free, though registration required.

If you are able, please consider a $5 donation to help support Contemporary Craft, though it is not a requirement (unless you are reserving a machine).

Materials: Please bring any supplies needed for your project. The Studio will have irons, ironing boards, cutting station, fabric scissors, rulers, and rotary blades for studio use. Sewing machines and sergers are available for use if reserved in advance.

We will have a small amount of scrap material available if you would like to join us but don’t have a project of your own in mind!

Location: Contemporary Craft, Timmons Studios (5688 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201). Note, this workshop will take place in the Fleischner Family Fibers Loft, which is on the second floor of the building.

There are 2 entrances to the Timmons Studios.

• One entrance is facing Butler Street. To access the Fibers Loft from the Butler Street facing entrance, there are a total of 32 stairs to ascend.

• One entrance is facing 57th Street. This entrance is accessible by ramp, with no stairs to ascend. There is a lift inside the building to access the second floor.

Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded through Eventbrite, or you may leave your workshop fee in your Contemporary Craft account for future workshops.

Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks.
