Sawdust and Slag: Artist Talk – National Artist-in-Residence Julia Harrison

Artist Talk
Date: Thursday, June 26, 2025
Time: 6:30pm-7:30pm
Description: Julia’s residency proposal focused on “windfall,” an appreciation of resources and opportunities that are there for the taking when we make a point to notice and value them. Since January, Julia has paid attention to Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh has paid her back– with inspiration, raw materials, and the occasional tattered dollar bill! In a relatively short time, this experience has greatly expanded Julia’s scope as a carver and jeweler. As her residency nears its end, Julia will share insights from the projects and experiments that could only have come from being in this particular place, at this particular time.
Tuition: FREE
Registration: Please use the link to register so we can anticipate attendance.
Location: Contemporary Craft – Raphael Building (5645 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201)
