Intro to Bookbinding: Pocket-Sized Notebooks with Reed Davidson
Date: Tuesday, June 16, 2026
Time: 6-9pm
Description: In this introductory bookbinding workshop, we will be using cereal boxes and other reused materials to create pocket-sized notebooks from scratch! These little blank books are perfect for poems, doodles, lists, random musings, and are great personalizable gifts. Although all materials are provided, participants are welcome to bring any decorative paper or paper collage materials they might want to add to their book covers.
Tuition & Materials: All tuition and materials are complimentary thanks to RAD Pass!
Location: Contemporary Craft, Timmons Studios (5688 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201). Note, this workshop will take place in the Papers Studio, which is on the first floor of the building.
There are 2 entrances to the Timmons Studios.
• One entrance is facing Butler Street. To access the Paper Studio from the Butler Street facing entrance, there are a total of 8 stairs to ascend. . From there, you can enter the Paper Studio directly
• One entrance is facing 57th Street. This entrance is accessible by ramp, with no stairs to ascend. Please ring the doorbell to the left of the frosted glass door, and staff will let you in. From there, the paper studio is down the hallway.

Cancellations: Cancellations are decided one business day before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, you will be notified via email.
About the Artist
Reed Davidson (they/them) is an artist and graduate student studying library and information science, specializing in archives at the University of Pittsburgh. They received their BFA from Ohio State University with a focus in painting and drawing. Reed currently enjoys playful experimentation with weaving, drawing, book-binding, noise-making and collecting. They think of their art practice as part of a broader ongoing aim to more attentively connect with their body and environment, which often involves collaboration and relationship-building.
