Painting, Drawing, and Pattern on Enamel with Visiting Artist Tanya Crane
August 6, 2022 @ 10:00 am - August 7, 2022 @ 5:00 pm

2-Day Workshop
Date: Saturday, August 6 & Sunday, August 7, 2022
Time: 10am-5pm each day
Description: Painting and drawing on enamel has been used for centuries. From the Lover’s Eye, portrait lockets and abstract imagery, you can take what you learn in this workshop to create your own heirloom treasures. This class will introduce students to various techniques for drawing and painting on enamel surfaces including sgraffito, pen and ink application, and limoges. I will cover the use of overglazes for these techniques, the oils I use, and the nuanced firing temperatures for these sensitive enamels. Students will go home with a completed brooch or pendant.
Basic metal skills required; some enamel experience preferred.
Tuition: $225 + $25 materials fee
Materials: Students should bring the following:
- Speedball fine point dip pen holder
- 3″-4″ flexible palette knife
