Mini Metals: Intro to Metalsmithing with Kayla Staigvil

Description: Are you Interested in metalsmithing but not sure you want to commit to an 8-week series? This is the workshop for you! In this one day workshop you will be introduced to the basic metalsmithing skills needed to start creating your own jewelry or small sculptures.
Students will make a simple ring band and an initial pendant while learning sawing, soldering, filing, and finishing skills.
Tuition: $95 + $20 materials fee
Materials: All materials will be provided
Location: Contemporary Craft (5645 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201)
Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded through Eventbrite, or you may leave your workshop fee in your Contemporary Craft account for future workshops.
Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks.
About the Artist
Kayla currently resides in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, where she is a studio jeweler in her free time who utilizes traditional silversmithing techniques in combination with found objects, mixed media and gemstone. She received her MFA from East Carolina University in 2016 and received her BFA from Edinboro University in 2013.
