About the Artist
Chelsea Attwood is a metalsmith and educator whose practice began in her father’s jewelry studio, fostering a lifelong connection to metalworking. She earned her BFA from Edinboro University in 2006 with a focus in metals and subsequently taught workshops throughout the Pittsburgh area while serving as adjunct faculty at CCAC and the Art Institute. During this time, she also created and exhibited a jewelry line at regional craft shows.Driven by her passion for education, Attwood completed her studies in art education at Carlow University and has been teaching in the classroom since 2012. She maintains an active studio practice across multiple mediums as a daily discipline, with metalworking remaining her primary focus. For Attwood, returning to the jeweler’s bench is “like coming home,” reflecting the deep personal connection that continues to drive her artistic work.
