Intro to Metals: Brass Bookmark with Vicki Branagan

3-Hour Workshop

Description: Get introduced to metalsmithing with this beginner-friendly workshop where you’ll design and create your own brass bookmark. Students will learn techniques including sawing, filing, texturing, stamping, and finishing. No prior experience is needed, we will focus on safe tool use and learning skills while you make a functional, personalized piece to take home. Perfect for anyone curious about metalsmithing and looking for a creative first project or making a handmade gift for the bookworm in your life!
Tuition: $65 + $25 materials fee

We really want you to join us in the studio! Full and partial tuition scholarships are available to offset some of the financial burden of attending a class. Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded through Eventbrite, or you may leave your workshop fee in your Contemporary Craft account for future workshops.
Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks.

About the Instructor
Vicki Branagan is Contemporary Craft’s Metals Studio Coordinator. She completed CC’s studio apprentiship in 2024. Vicki is a metalsmith, woodworkder, and avid crocheter. She received her MFA From Edinboro University in 2022 and has lived in Pittsburgh, PA since graduating.
