Intro to Embroidery: Stitching Stories with Kirsten Ervin

3-Hour Workshop
Date: Saturday, September 27
Time: 10am-1pm
Description: Don’t throw that perfect shirt out just because, ah dangit!, that one morning when coffee spilled down the front of it….
Instead: transform it into a custom embroidery that will impress everyone!
Learn how to create unique embroidered designs with the special bonus of letting the shape of a stain be your guide!
Students will leave with their clothing transformed!
Bring in an item of clothing, beloved though stained. Kirsten will guide you through some automatic drawing techniques to create a few designs based on the shape of the stain! How fun is that??! Then, learn to transfer and stitch your design onto your garment!
This workshop is beginner friendly, though some familiarity with using a thread and needle a needle is helpful. Please email Fibers Program Manager, Jamie Boyle, at jboyle@contemporarycraft.org if you have any questions.
Saturday Stitches is a program of the Contemporary Craft fibers studio, celebrating embroidery and other needle work/stitching techniques.
