Food Summit 2022

March 19, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

  • « Rabbit Laser Cutter Certification with Kate Dockery
  • VIRTUAL: Needle Felted Wood Duck with Erin Carlson »

Join us, The Salon, and 412 Food Rescue for an afternoon of exploration where we’ll get an up-close look at what it means to drive change through action, passion, innovation, purpose, and art. Learn first-hand what’s happening on the ground from the badass women tending local farms, ending waste, fighting hunger, protecting the environment, making art, and fighting injustices that are changing the landscape right here in your community and beyond. Our hope is that the Food Summit provides a deeper understanding of the systemic problems that contribute to food insecurity and food waste, ignites positive, lasting change, and offers actionable ways we can all make a difference in our lives and communities.

‍

The Salon Food Summit 2.0 Lineup

1 pm Head to Contemporary Craft for a behind-the-scenes special viewing of the exhibit Food Justice: Growing a Healthier Community through Art with the curators, Kate Lydon and Katie Dockery.

2:30 pm Grab a front-row seat in The Salon for a lightning round of 10 tiny talks from the women who are shifting the conversation and shaping the field when it comes to food justice. You won’t get sage from the stage here. Each promises to be provocative and a personal story of what it takes to get things done.

4:30 pm Bask in the whole of the parts for a community celebration to cap off the day!
