DIY Stained Glass Brooch with Sarah Cohen
February 3 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
3-Hour Workshop
Date: Saturday, February 3, 2024
Time: 10am-1pm
Description: Curious about stained glass? Pressing flowers? Get crafty with us on a small scale! Learn different techniques for pressing flowers and transform them into pins, magnets, or mementos that preserve nature and your memories. Studetns will learn how to cut sheet glass and how to foil the edges. Use materials provided and/or bring your own flowers (fresh or dried) if you desire! Everything will be sandwiched between 2 sheets of glass.
Create your own “cabinet of curiosity” that fits into a glass brooch on your coat, backpack, sweater, or an object for your desk. Makes a great gift or a fun activity to do with friends and family. You will make at least 2 things: brooches (pins), magnets, or curious objects. You choose! Sizes vary: 1″ x 1″ up to 3″ x 3″.
Tuition: $55 + $45 materials fee
Materials: All materials will be provided, including pre-cut shapes. There will be glass to make your own shapes as well.
Students may bring their own poems, handwritten notes, paper collages, cut-outs, decals, magazines, pictures, and thin materials like dried flowers, feathers, or anything sentimental you would like in glass.
Please note: materials must be flat or glass will not sit flat.
