Carve Along with National Artist-in-Residence Julia Harrison

2-Hour Carve-Along!
Date: Thursday, August 21, 2025
Time: 6pm-8pm
Description: Calling all wood carvers! Many carvers typically work alone but it can be fun and inspiring to hang out with others who share a love of carving. Bring a small work-in-progress and your own hand tools to this casual carve-along in CC’s new Resident Artist Studio (formerly the Metals Studio) with National Artist-in-Residence, Julia Harrison (juliaharrison.net). While this isn’t an instructional meeting we’ll certainly exchange tips, suggestions, and feedback. Open to all wood carvers working with hand tools. Let’s work together to make a big pile of chips!
Tuition: Free
Materials: You must provide your own materials and carving tools
Location: Contemporary Craft – Raphael Building, National Residency Studio (5645 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201)
Cancellations: Cancellations are decided one business day before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded through Eventbrite, or you may leave your workshop fee in your Contemporary Craft account for future workshops.
If you require accessibility accommodations, please let us know by calling 412.261.7003 and we are happy to assist you.
