Making art accessible through craft.

Contemporary Craft fosters the use of traditional craft materials such as ceramic, fiber, glass, metal and wood to make art. Our community honors the history and heritage of craft, while showcasing modern, exploratory work.

New National Residency Program

Contemporary Craft is pleased to announce a new national artist residency program, beginning in Spring/Summer 2023. This program will offer both short-term and long-term residencies that include free housing and a monthly stipend.

The national residencies are open to artists who are non-Pittsburgh residents and work in craft mediums such as metalsmithing, jewelry, fibers, weaving, wood, encaustics, paper and book arts, small-scale ceramics, and small-scale woodworking.

Applications for both the short and long-term national residencies are due Wednesday, February 15 at 11:59 PM EST, with notifications sent on Tuesday, March 7.
