Artist Lecture: Sonya Clark

International recognized artist Sonya Clark will present a public lecture about her creative process and her work. This hair inspired community conversations will not only be about identity and perception, but also a place to share intergenerational Black hair stories with African women from the Pittsburgh region.
The event is co-sponsored by Contemporary Craft and Women of Vision, Inc., a Pittsburgh-based group representing female artists of color working in a variety of mediums. Women of Visions, Inc. has worked with us to present the exhibition Parts, Patterns, and Pieces in the BNY Mellon Satellite Gallery. The exhibiting artists explored personal reflections and interpretations of Black hair using an array of visual art mediums.
